CUET (UG) 2026 Alert

How to Resolve Photo Mismatch on Your Application 📸
Navigating entrance exam applications can be stressful enough without unexpected technical hurdles. If you are gearing up for the Common University Entrance Test CUET (UG) 2026, there is an important new advisory from the NTA regarding photograph mismatches that you need to know about.
If you recently completed your online application and used an ID proof other than Aadhaar, or if your live captured photo didn't quite match the records available with UIDAI, don't panic! The NTA has released a simple process to help you verify your identity so you can focus on your studies.
Here is a complete breakdown of what happened and exactly what you need to do to fix it.
Who Needs to Take Action?
This advisory specifically applies to you if:
You registered for CUET (UG) 2026 using an identity proof document other than an Aadhaar Card.
You used Aadhaar/DigiLocker, but there was a mismatch between your live application photograph and the photo on UIDAI's records.
How to Fix It: The "Photo Verification Certificate"
The NTA has activated a Photo Verification Certificate module on the official portal. Affected candidates must download this certificate, get it officially attested, and upload it back to the system.
Here is your step-by-step guide to resolving the issue:
Step 1: Download the Certificate
Head over to the official NTA link (provided below) and log into your candidate dashboard to download the blank "Photo Verification Certificate".
Step 2: Get it Attested
Attach a recent photograph to the certificate and have it signed and attested by one of the following authorities:
Your School/College Principal or Headmaster.
What if my Principal isn't available? > If you cannot reach your school authorities, you can get the document attested by a Class-I Gazetted Officer. This includes a Tehsildar, Revenue Officer, Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), or District Magistrate (DM). For NRI candidates, a Class-I Gazetted Officer at the Indian Embassy can attest the document.
Step 3: Upload the Document
Once your document is stamped and signed, scan it and upload it back through the same module on the CUET portal.
Step 4: Keep a Hard Copy for Exam Day
This is crucial! You must bring a printed, physical copy of this attested certificate with you to your examination center. It will be required for physical verification on the day of your test.
🗓️ Important Dates & Links
Please act quickly, as the window to resolve this is very short.
Start Date: April 7, 2026
End Date: April 10, 2026
Administrative hiccups are just a small bump in the road. Get this sorted out quickly before the April 10th deadline so you can get right back to crushing your exam prep. Good luck!
